Mandira Bedi shares how two Rajs entered her life at the same time: ‘Shah Rukh Khan would often ask, which Raj came first?’

Mandira Bedi had started her acting career back in 1994 with the Doordarshan daily soap Shanti. Around the same time, she also signed the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenger. In the film, she played the role of Preeti Singh, while Shah Rukh played the role of Raj. This time was also crucial for Mandira’s personal life as she had started to date filmmaker Raj Kaushal.

Recalling the time when she had both the Raj’s entering her personal and professional life, Mandira told Yuvaa, “Shah Rukh Khan knew Raj and he would often ask, ‘Which Raj came first?’ I just started seeing Raj when Shanti had started and Dilwale had started around the same time so both the Raj’s came into my life around the same time.”

Mandira Bedi, who lost her husband, in 2021 also recalled the time when she met her husband for the first time. “I met Raj when I just started working and he had a great energy. I liked the way he treated me. Then I made him meet my parents and we got married a few years later in 1999 on Valentine’s Day.”

Raj Kaushal died after suffering a heart attack at the age of 50. Mandira often shares pictures and captions remembering her late husband on Instagram. On February 14 this year, the actor-host took to her Instagram handle to share a post. She captioned it, “We would have been married 26 years today… Miss you!”
