Mahesh Bhatt says daughter Pooja supported family during his tough phase, reveals he struggled to arrange Rs 1500 at time of her birth
Mahesh Bhatt recently appeared on the reality TV show Bigg Boss OTT. The filmmaker's daughter and actor Pooja Bhatt is one of the contestants on the show.

Along with his vibrant presence in the Bigg Boss house, Mahesh Bhatt brought along a treasure trove of anecdotes from his life in his recent appears on the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 2. Bhatt stepped inside the Bigg Boss house to meet his eldest daughter, Pooja Bhatt, who is one of the participants on the reality show. During his time inside the house, the filmmaker talked about his relationship with Pooja, recalling how she became a pillar of strength during his struggling days.
In most touching moment on the show, Mahesh reminisced about the birth of Pooja Bhatt. The director-producer got married to Kiran Bhatt at the age of 20 and became father to Pooja at a young age of 23. During the show, Bhatt recalled how he faced many financial challenges at the time of Pooja’s birth and struggled to arrange Rs 1500. He remembered when he first saw Pooja, she looked angry, and he felt that she was born to bring about positive change in his life, becoming like a ‘godchild to him’.
Bhatt also praised Pooja Bhatt and revealed that during his struggling phase, the actor stepped up and became the backbone of the family. He revealed that Pooja took the initiative to pursue a career in modeling and even auditioned for numerous advertisements. Her success in the modeling world played a crucial role in running their household during difficult days.
After a stint in modeling, Pooja made her acting debut in the 1989 film Daddy, which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt himself. In the film, Pooja portrayed the role of a teenager in an estranged relationship with her alcoholic father, portrayed by Anupam Kher.
