It has been nearly a decade since Kriti Sanon made her debut in the film industry, and over the years, her career has experienced various ups and downs. Most recently, she achieved a significant career high by winning the Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards for her performance in Mimi.

Before stepping into the world of cinema with the Telugu film 1: Nenokkadine in 2014, Sanon had a brief stint as a model.

In a recent interview, the actor reminisced about her first photoshoot, revealing that it didn’t go well, and it left her in tears. Kriti Sanon acknowledged that she has never been an extremely confident person, confessing during a conversation with Curly Tales, “Since my childhood, I’ve always been a very shy person who would often hide behind my mom’s dupatta. As a kid, I would take my mom along to birthday parties. I used to be the quiet one with a lot of stage fright.”

Reflecting on her initial photoshoot experience, Sanon recalled feeling extremely self-conscious. “I wasn’t really an established model at that time; I had just started modelling. It was (covered by) a big photographer who was very sweet. But I knew I was not really doing well and he could see it on my face. He asked me if this was my first shoot, to which I said yes, and further enquired if I had gotten a portfolio done, to which I said no. Though he said not to worry, in my heart, I was not feeling good about myself.”

“Once I left the shoot, I sat in an auto and cried. I went home and said I don’t think I did well… acha nahi hua…”

Kriti Sanon also shared that her sister told her the industry demanded a high level of confidence and even suggested that perhaps it wasn’t meant for her.

During the same interview, Sanon also recalled the unpleasant experience at her first fashion show during which she was scolded by her choreographer in front of 50 other models

The actor shared, “My first ramp show, the choreographer, I have never worked with her again, she was very rude to me because I messed up the choreography. It was at some farmhouse and heels were getting stuck into the grass and it was my first time. Terrible. I started crying because she was scolding me in front of 50 models and very rudely. I was holding it for long but I cry the moment someone shouts at me.”
