Khushi Kapoor says she ‘bawled’ after being told she is cast in The Archies: ‘When I got the call from Zoya…’

The video of the song “Sunoh” gives a glimpse into the various characters of The Archies. Composed by Ankur Tewari and The Islanders, the lyrics of the song are penned by Javed Akhtar and Dot. Singer Tejas has given his vocals for the song.

At the song launch, Khushi Kapoor said being cast in The Archies was like a dream come true for her. Khushi added that she “bawled” when Zoya called to inform her about her casting. She said, “When I got the call from Zoya saying that I’ve been chosen for the film, I was with a friend. And as soon as I cut the call, she gave me a tight hug, and I started bawling, crying because it was truly such a special moment.”

The actor also revealed how working on the film helped her form some true bonds of friendship. “We have all been there for each other from the beginning, and we all have individual relationships. It felt like one big school trip, where we were going to each other’s rooms, making Maggi and popcorn. I felt really lucky to have true friends through the process,” Khushi shared.

Khushi Kapoor also revealed that the entire cast of The Archies trained well before starting the shoot. They took swimming, skating, cycling and acting workshops. She said, “We have a lot of our character’s personalities in ourselves. It was great to work with Zoya and find those different layers of the characters. We did train a lot. We had swimming, cycling, skating, and acting workshops so we could get comfortable with our characters and ourselves. By the time we got to the shoot, we were extremely well prepared.”

The Archies will be released on Netflix on December 7.
