Katrina Kaif shares best thing about being a Punjabi daughter-in-law; reveals Vicky Kaushal’s reaction to Merry Christmas: ‘Jhappi from hubby’

Katrina Kaif conducted an 'AMA' session with her fans on Instagram, where she shared her favourite part of being a Punjabi daughter-in-law. She also talked about her recently released film, Merry Christmas.

Actor Katrina Kaif is currently basking in the success of Sriram Raghavan’s thriller Merry Christmas in which she essays the lead role, along with actor Vijay Sethupathi. On Thursday, she conducted an ‘AMA’ session with her fans on Instagram, where she shared her favourite part of being a Punjabi daughter-in-law. She is married to actor Vicky Kaushal. She also revealed her favourite scene from Merry Christmas and how she managed to speak dialogues in Tamil with the help of Sethupathi

Katrina was asked by her fan, “What do you like about being Punjabi’s daughter-in-law?” The actor replied, “Dher saara pyaar aur ghar ka bana hua sarso ka saag aur maki ki roti with white makhan (A lot of love and homemade delicacies).” Katrina married Vicky Kaushal in November 2021.

Vicky had earlier described their marriage as ‘parantha weds pancakes’. He shared with News Tak, “Our marriage is paranthas weds pancakes. They are the same only. She loves pancakes, I love paranthas.” He then added, “She also likes paranthas that my mom makes.”

During the AMA, Katrina also had a funny response to a fan who asked about the dish she likes to cook. The actor replied, “Khayali Pulao”.

Katrina, who is winning accolades for her performance in Merry Christmas, shared how the film’s director Raghavan had a clear vision for every character of the film. She wrote, “Sriram sir lived and breathed every character, he has such insights and our rehearsals gave us a chance to explore the possibilities in every scene.” Adding more on the experience of working on the film, she shared, “Merry Christmas has been one of the most gratifying experiences in my career. Sriram sir gave me one of my toughest roles yet, he gives you tough challenges, but the outcome made me feel very proud to be a part of this film.”

Though compliments have been flowing from all corners, Katrina got the best response from her husband Vicky Kaushal. When a fan asked her about the ‘best reaction’ she received for the film, she shared a picture of Vicky hugging her and wrote, “Jhappi from hubby”, and added a heart emoji.

Merry Christmas had a simultaneous release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. It was not easy for Katrina to speak in Tamil, but she managed with the help of her co-actor Sethupathi. Calling her experience of speaking in Tamil “very very hard”, Katrina added, “But I had great support from Vijay Sethupathi all throughout and a wonderful Tamil artist, Depa Venkat.”

The film is having a decent run at the box office and has earned Rs 13.83 crore in six days. It has another week to rake in money before Hrithik Roishan’s Fighter hits the theatres on January 25.
