Katrina Kaif on Thursday posted a long note appreciating her actor husband Vicky Kaushal’s latest film Sam Bahadur. Katrina called the biographical war drama, set to open in cinemas on December 1, a “poetic” film.
In Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, Vicky features as India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. Katrina, who watched the film at an industry screening, said Sam Bahadur “transported” her to a different “era” and lauded Vicky’s “flawless” performance.

Vicky Kaushal had previously mentioned how Meghna Gulzar was like a “hawk” on the sets of the film as the Indian Army is very particular about their representation. In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Vicky had said how with the character of Sam Manekshaw, there was a “glory” to live up to.
“Whenever I would interact with the Army, they would be very encouraging, show a lot of faith and give a lot of love. But they would always end the conversation saying, ‘You better do a good job, he was our best man.’ That would always scare me a little bit,” he added.
Sam Bahadur will be Vicky Kaushal’s third release of the year after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and The Great Indian Family. The film will clash at the box office with Animal, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor.
