Actor Saif Ali Khan suffered injuries during an attempted burglary at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of January 16, at approximately 2:00 am. His wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, has confirmed the attack and reassured fans that, while Saif is undergoing treatment at the hospital, the rest of the family, including their two sons—8-year-old Taimur Ali Khan and 4-year-old Jeh Ali Khan—are safe.
A statement released by Kareena’s team addressed the incident, saying, “There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in the hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern. Team Kareena Kapoor Khan.”
During the burglary attempt, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by the intruder. One of the stabs was dangerously close to his spine, causing serious concern. Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital shared further details with SCREEN about Saif’s condition and the treatment being administered. He revealed that Race 3 actor underwent surgery and is now recovering.
“Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an unidentified person at his Bandra home and was brought in at 3:30 am. Saif has six stabs and two are deep. Of this, one is close to spine. He is being operated upon by team of doctors led by neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, anesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi,” he said.
It is not yet confirmed whether Kareena Kapoor Khan was present at the house when the burglary occurred. However, her Instagram Story from the previous evening suggests that she was attending a dinner party. Kareena shared glimpses of her evening out with sister Karisma Kapoor and friends Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.
