Kangana Ranaut is the latest to join the bandwagon of actors who have done or are doing biopics. It’s reported that the talented actress will essay the role of warrior queen Rani Lakshmi Bai in filmmaker Ketan Mehta’s next.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the project will be an Indo-British production, for which Kangana will undergo heavy-duty training in horse riding, sword-fighting and other warfare skills for almost a year, before she starts shooting.

It’s also being speculated that for General Hugh Rose’s character, the makers are planning to rope in Hollywood actor Hugh Grant. General Hugh Rose was given command of the Central Indian Field Force and witnessed Lakshmi Bai’s legendary bravery during the rebellion at Jhansi in 1858.
