Juhi Chawla reacts to Salman Khan saying her family rejected his wedding proposal, talks about why they never worked together: ‘He didn’t miss a chance to…’

Juhi shared that initially, she knew little about Salman and Aamir Khan. She said, “Back in the day, when I had just started out in my career, and when Salman was not THE Salman Khan, a film had come my way that had him in the lead actor. In fact, I didn’t know anyone properly back then – not him, not Aamir (Khan) or anyone else in the industry. Incidentally, I couldn’t do the film because of some issue.”

Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla started their career in Bollywood almost around the same time. While Juhi’s debut happened with the 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Salman made entered the Hindi film industry with the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi. But throughout their careers, Salman and Juhi didn’t share the screen ever, except for Salman’s cameo in Juhi’s film Deewana Mastana, co-starring Anil Kapoor and Govinda.

Sharing how Salman taunts her to this day about refusing to do a film with him, Juhi added, “And to this day, he doesn’t leave one chance to remind me of it! ‘You didn’t do the film with me,’ he keeps saying. We hardly worked on films together but we did a lot of stage shows. He had a cameo in Deewana Mastana.”

Juhi now rarely makes an appearance on the silver screen. She was last seen in the 2022 film Sharmaji Namkeen along with Rishi Kapoor. Salman, on the other hand, continues to star in films as the lead actor. He is now awaiting the release of his next, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film hit the theaters on April 21.
