Jawan advance booking day 3: Shah Rukh answers if numbers are ‘real or fake’ as film sells over 5 lakh tickets, earns over Rs 16 cr

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is witnessing record-breaking advance ticket sales. The Atlee directorial is scheduled to arrive in cinema halls on September 7, but it has already done a business of almost Rs 17 crore, selling over five lakh tickets across the country. Now, with advance booking opening for more theatres on Monday, this number is expected to grow manifold.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, a total of 5,77,255 tickets have been sold for Jawan. In the Hindi market, 5,29,568 tickets have been sold in the 2D format and 11,558 have paid for the IMAX tickets. The Tamil and Telugu markets have sold 19,899 and 16,230 tickets respectively. This has brought the total earnings of the film to Rs 16.93 crore.

Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan reported that Jawan’s maximum business is coming from the national multiplexes. While PVR has reported a sale of 1,12,299 tickets, INOX sold 75,661 tickets followed by Cinepolis’ 40,577 tickets. The people of Hyderabad are most excited to watch Shah Rukh in action as the most number of tickets (58,898) have been sold in the city. Kolkata follows with 40,035 tickets. The other metro cities, Delhi- NCR (39,535), Mumbai (39,600), and Bengaluru (39,325) are also witnessing a huge craze around Jawan.

He also shared that not just national cinema chains, but non-national chains and single screens are also experiencing a ‘phenomenal’ response for Jawan, leading to early morning shows even in Tier 2 cities.

He wrote on X, “While #Jawan is having SOLID advances at national chains, the advance booking status at *non-national chain cinemas* and *single screens* is PHENOMENAL as well… Single screens in #Delhi, #UP, #Rajasthan, #Bihar and the #Hindi heartland are showing EXCEPTIONAL results… So much so that several exhibitors are commencing shows at 6 am, even at Tier-2 centres, due to the heavy demand.”

Shah Rukh Khan reacts to Jawan advance booking

Shah Rukh, who interacted with his fans on Sunday through social media, shared his happiness on seeing the record-breaking advance ticket sales. On being asked how he feels about it, the actor replied, “Very happy that all of you want to see films in theatres as a community. #Jawan will Insha Allah be big screen experience for all.”

He also added, “I feel blessed by the love of so many people! My family and me are eternally grateful to all for this immense love. #Jawan.”

He also responded to a person who questioned the veracity of Jawan advance box office numbers. “Jawan ka kitna booking cooperate hai aur kitna real (how much of the Jawan advance booking numbers is real and how much is fake)? #AskSRK,” the person wrote. Shah Rukh responded, “Yeh social media waali ghatia baatein mat karo yaar (don’t talk rubbish). Have positive thoughts and good feelings for all. Better for life.”

Jawan will probably have Shah Rukh in a double role of a father and son. The film marks the first collaboration between him and Atlee, who is known for Tamil hits like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. The film also stars an ensemble cast including actors Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover, among others.
