Jawan actor Aaliyah Qureishi couldn’t get tickets for her own film, reveals Vijay Sethupathi had an acting coach on set

Mentioning that she had watched him in films such as Super Deluxe, Aaliyah stated that Vijay Sethupathi is “such a humble person”. “When you speak to him, you won’t feel like you are talking to a brilliant actor or star. He is just nice, calm and on his own. He doesn’t have anything flashy,” she added.

Pointing out that Sethupathi is extremely dedicated to his craft, Aaliyah added: “Sometimes, he would have an acting coach with him on the set, just to bounce ideas off on how to do a scene slightly different or to find if there’s any inflexion he could change. So, he’s always trying to improve his craft even though he’s at the top.” She said that doesn’t envy that job, considering how talented he is already.

Aaliyah also stated that the chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi was chilling. “While Shah Rukh sir is all about charisma and style, Vijay is more about improvisation where he would just say something funny out of the blue.”

Underlining how well the movie is doing at the box office, Aaliyah said that she did not get tickets for Jawan initially. “Then I had to request the production team to provide me with 10 tickets so that I could take my family and friends too.”

She said that the actors who played the women in Azaad’s team wanted to watch the movie together, but a few of them had to back out at the last moment owing to some unprecedented urgencies. “The initial plan was that all of us would catch the movie together because, from the beginning, we wanted to watch our team effort together.”
