In 2014, ‘Youngistaan’ actor Jackky Bhagnani committed a major faux pas when he took to Twitter to congratulate Pakistani social activist, Malala Yousafzai on winning the Nobel peace Prize, posting her name as ‘masala’ instead of Malala. Though Jackky later deleted his tweet, the damage was already done. The post went viral with the Twitterati poking fun at the actor, thanks to auto correct. And on September 8, 2015, Jackky Bhagnani shared a picture on social media from London, informing fans that he was in town to meet someone special. And, on Malala’s 18th birthday (July 12), Jaccky found a way to make it up to the her with a heartfelt video titled, ‘Happy Birthday Malala | Ye Malala Ke Baare Mein Hai, masala ke baare mein nahi!’ The video featured Jackky accepting his mistake and teaching little children about Malala’s contribution to education. And it is thanks to this video that Jackky got to meet Malala. Malala's team came across the birthday tribute and brought it to her notice. She later connected with Jackky, expressing her appreciation for the video.
