Jaat box office collection day 22: Sunny Deol’s film barely makes Rs 50 lakh, its lowest single-day earning so far
Jaat box office collection day 22: Sunny Deol's film will now face stiff competition from new release Raid 2 and holdover release Kesari 2. Unlike these two sequels and Sunny's previous hit Gadar 2, Jaat doesn't have the advantage of an established franchise.

Gopichand Malineni’s action film Jaat, starring Sunny Deol in the lead role, was hoping to bring the same storm to the box office that other recent films with South directors and Bollywood lead actors did. But Jaat is no Jawan or Animal. In fact, it may not be able to cross the first milestone, Rs 100 crore, at the domestic box office.
On its 21st day at the domestic box office, Jaat barely earned Rs 50 lakh, which is its lowest single-day haul so far. Before that, it was Rs 65 lakh earlier this week, on Monday, day 20. That was a major dip from the Sunday (day 18) collection of Rs 2 crore. As Jaat saw a minor spike on Tuesday, day 21, with Rs 70 lakh, there were hopes that it’ll continue to grow on Wednesday as well. But it dipped by Rs 20 lakh instead.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the domestic box office collection of Jaat now stands at Rs 86.85 crore. The current pace is just not enough for it to reach even Rs 100 crore. While day 22, Thursday (May 1), is a holiday in Maharashtra on account of Labour Day, Jaat will face stiff competition from a new Bollywood release — Rajkumar Gupta’s thriller Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn.
Jaat is already competing with Karan Singh Tyagi’s period courtroom drama Kesari 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar. After Sunny performed a stunning comeback the box office in 2023 with the blockbuster success of his action drama Gadar 2, hopes were high from Jaat. But unlike Kesari 2 and Raid 2, Jaat doesn’t come with the advantage of an established franchise, although the makers have already announced Jaat 2, days after the film’s release last month.
Within four days of its release on April 10, Jaat had earned Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office, as per the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, the force behind blockbusters like Allu Arjun-starrer Telugu action franchise Pushpa. However, as compared to Gadar 2, Jaat hasn’t even earned one-fifth of its lifetime domestic box office collection of Rs 513.75 crore so far.
Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. It revolves around the titular character, played by Deol, who goes to the South of India to rescue an abducted police officer (Kher) from Sri Lankan gangster Rana Tunga (Hooda).
