It’s not a great idea to work with your wife in movies: Saif Ali Khan on Kareena Kapoor

“Some people just have a great chemistry onscreen while some don’t. May be it is in the script. Also the kind of films we did were ill-fated and they were slightly ill- conceived. There are many things that go into it. I think it is a shame because she is a lovely actress and I would love to work with her,” said Saif Ali Khan in telephonic conversation with Indian Express.

While on one hand, Saif is not averse to the idea of teaming up with Kareena again for a movie, on the other, he feels husbands are better off acting with actresses other than their spouses.

“It is never a great idea to work with your wife now. You have to choose. It’s nice to come home and live with her and work with other people. At least that way there will be a certain amount of freshness in both your personal and professional life. Things might get monotonous otherwise,” says Saif.

Saif, who is gearing up for his next big release Phantom which will hit silver screens tomorrow (August 28), has already screened the movie for Kareena and the latter was all praises for her husband’s ace performance. Revealed Saif: “Kareena has seen the movie and has really liked it but it’s hard to tell whether she is being supportive or not as with most people around us. Actually you just have to wait and see what the audience say. Nothing else is of any serious consequence. While it is encouraging when she says she likes it, I am only interested in what happens on Friday.”

‘Phantom’ is directed by Kabir Khan and it also stars Katrina Kaif in lead.
