It’s a Shaandaar Day: Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer releases today

This Friday, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Shaandaar' hits the theatres and so far, all factors seem to be working in its favour.

shaandaar, shahid kapoor, alia bhatt, shaandaar release, shaandaar film, shaandaar movie release, shaandaar movie, shaandaar shahid kapoor, shaandaar alia bhatt, vikas bahl, shaandaar friday release Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Shaandaar’ is an alone release on Dussehra, and the previous week’s releases don’t seem to pose any threat to the movie. And unless the word of mouth is extremely poor, the movie is expected to open good and survive better.

All through the promotions of their upcoming movie ‘Shaandaar’, the lead stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were so comfortable and friendly with each other, with Alia coming to Shahid’s rescue everytime he was asked about his newly wedded wife Mira, that they have enhanced the fun quotient of the movie. Not that it was any lesser before.

Ever since the trailer of the movie released, the anticipation around the movie has been increasing. The fun trailer packed with the quirky scenes between Shahid and his father Pankaj Kapur or Alia’s bikini scene was a treat to watch. Since then, the ‘Jhalak Reloaded’ judge didn’t leave any chance to promote his movie on the sets of the dance reality show or elsewhere.

‘Shaandaar’, hence, has seen some Shaandaar promotions with Shahid’s quirkiness and Alia’s hyperness.

Also, last year has been mighty good for the whole team – Shahid won all Best Actor awards for ‘Haider’, Vikas Bahl Best Film and Best Director for ‘Queen’ and Alia got her share of accolades for her performance in ‘Highway’. This does increase the incredibility for this film.

The romantic comedy has been shot at foreign locales with the unusual theme of a destination wedding. This makes another score in the movie’s favour.

Shahid and Alia play insomniacs in the movie, with Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur playing Alia’s father and Shahid’s half-sister Sanah making her Bollywood debut as Alia’s sister. Shibani Dandekar, Sushma Seth and Sanjay Kapoor make for a good supporting cast.

‘Shaandaar’s songs, especially ‘Shaam Shaandaar’ and ‘Gulaabo’, also have made to the chartbuster list. Amit Trivedi has again created magic with his music.

Shahid, Alia and Vikas, thereby, can sit back and relax. And perhaps, the audience too.
