Ishitta Arun on Piyush PandeyA video of Ishitta Arun has surfaced online, showing her smiling at her paternal uncle Piyush Pandey’s funeral.

Ila Arun’s daughter Ishitta Arun was in the news recently after she got slammed by some haters online who criticised her for smiling at her uncle, Piyush Pandey’s funeral. A video of Ishitta surfaced on the internet in which she was spotted smiling at the funeral. While she received a lot of backlash for it, she took to her Instagram Stories to respond on the same.

It all started after a smiling video of Ishitta was shared online and the comments on it read like, “She is enjoying the moment,” “Why is she so happy??,” “Why laugh at such a sensitive place,” “Fake log.. no feelings.. no emotions..” Ishitta Arun chose not to stay silent against the online hate and gave a fitting response to trolls on social media.

Responding to the trolls, Ishitta Arun shared a series of notes on her Instagram stories, clarifying that the viral moment was about remembering and celebrating Piyush Pandey — fondly known as the “Godfather of Indian Advertising” and “India’s Adman,” titles bestowed upon him by an industry that deeply respected him.

Ishitta Arun first wrote, “A Note: Grief isn’t a single script. And when you’re saying goodbye to a man who laughed louder than anyone else — remembering him through laughter isn’t disrespect. It’s continuity. It’s muscle memory. It’s knowing who he really was.” She then shared the very clip and added, ““Please read the comment section.”

“To @voompla and the trolls who took time out of their very empty lives to twist a single second — what you saw was us laughing at his line. A line only he could deliver. If you had known him, even in passing, you wouldn’t have needed this explained,” she added.

Ishitta concluded by saying, “We don’t stage grief. We don’t mute memory to make strangers comfortable. We remembered him honestly — as laughter, courage, and life itself. Next time — know the story before you comment on the moment. ❤️”
