Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan’s wedding festivities concluded last evening with a grand reception in Mumbai. The function was indeed a starry affair, with the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance. From Neeta and Mukesh Ambani to Salman Khan, Shah Rukh, and Gauri Khan, many illustrious personalities attended the reception to bless the newlyweds. But one of the highlights of the function was Aamir exchanging pleasantries with SRK.

SRK and Aamir have had their ups and downs in the past. The Laal Singh Chaddha actor had also spoken about their evolving relationship in 2014 on Koffee with Karan, where he mentioned that ‘even though there is a genuine regard and respect for each other’s work, there’s a certain amount of gaurdedness.’ Ira’s reception united all three Khans of Bollywood.

Ira Khan married longtime boyfriend Nupur Shikhare, who is a celebrity fitness trainer. In the first week of January, the two registered their marriage at an elegant function held in Mumbai. The bride, groom, and their respective families headed to Udaipur for more wedding festivities that took place from January 7 to 10. Last evening at the reception, Nupur and Ira made for quite a beautiful pair.

A day before this grand reception for industry folks, Aamir also held a special lunch for the members of the media. On this occasion, he even spoke about his daughter Ira taking the plunge. He said, “My emotion was like a shehnai, it is an instrument played at weddings, it has a quality that gives you a little happiness, but a little sadness too. It has a mixture of emotions, that’s how I felt.”

Ira met Nupur during the lockdown when he was training Aamir Khan, and the two have been dating for the last three years. Aamir’s daughter has been a mental health advocate who also runs an NGO.
