The day of the 51st International Emmy Awards is here the results are out. Actor Jim Sarbh lost to Martin Freeman for his performance in The Responder. Jim was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor category at the International Emmy Awards for his turn as Homi J Bhabha in the acclaimed series Rocket Boys. While Vir Das clinched the award for Comedy at the prestigious event, Shefali Shah also lost in her category.

The ceremony, which took place on November 20 in New York City, also saw producer Ekta Kapoor being honoured with the prestigious International Emmy Directorate Award.

The Sony LIV show, spread over two seasons, is based on the lives of Homi J Bhabha and Vikram Sarabha and chronicles how two of the greatest Indian scientists shaped the country’s future. Though Rocket Boys wasn’t Jim’s streaming debut, the series did help him gain wider acclaim–and fan base–as he took on the daunting task to portray the life of the Indian nuclear physicist on screen.

The global recognition for Jim comes almost after a decade of his breakthrough with Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja, in which he played one of the terrorists who hijack an aircraft.

Jim’s menacing turn as the ruthless Khalil earned him accolades, which he carry fowarded in his other equally brilliant outings like A Death in a Gunj, Padmaavat, Sanju and two Prime Video series, Made in Heaven and Four More Shots Please.

In the last two years, Jim starred in two commercial but well received films. He re-teamed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Padmaavat for Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, which opened last year, followed by his 2023 feature Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, headlined by Rani Mukerji.
