Imran Khan talks about ‘Katti Batti’ co-star Kangana Ranaut and his live-in relationship with wife Avantika
"I hope, with our film 'Katti Batti', Kangana Ranaut's stardom peaks more," says Imran Khan.

Bollywood actor Imran Khan has a release ‘Katti Batti’ coming up after almost two years, but there’s no sign of nerves. He says that the last time he was really nervous was when his debut movie ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ released.
According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, Imran Khan was also quoted as saying, “Sometimes it’s a line of dialogue and sometimes it’s a junior artist in the background staring at the camera, I only spot mistakes which is a torture. So, now I’ve stopped watching my films.”
Kangana Ranaut, Imran Khan’s co-star in the movie, is at the peak of her stardom. So does he think it’s going to affect him in any way? “I hope with our film her stardom really peaks more. I believe in surrounding myself with talented people. That way the film is going to be better, and so are you,” he quips.

‘Katti Batti’ is about a couple in a live-in relationship and entails the pressures and travails of such an association. Imran endorses live-in relationships but admits that in a country like India, it might still be a taboo. “But as we move towards a global culture, I think it is going to become more acceptable. My family and Avantika’s were fine with it. In 2004, when I was 20, I started living in with Avantika who was 21 then. It helped us understand the relationship better so I support it whole-heartedly,” he says.
And has his uncle Aamir Khan watched ‘Katti Batti’ yet? “Yeah, he has. He thought there was too much of English and suggested that we dub some of the dialogues in Hindi. I think both Nikhil (director Nikhil Advani) and I am a bit too urban.”
“He’s very categorical that your films should be understood by everyone,” Imran signs off.
