Actor Imran Khan recently unveiled glimpses of his abode, which he personally designed, on Instagram, showcasing a serene retreat amidst nature. While admirers flooded his feed with praise, one netizen raised questions about his finances, given his hiatus from the silver screen. However, Imran quickly silenced the troll with humour.
When the said user asked, “From where is he getting money,” addressing the query head-on, the Delhi Belly actor quipped, “I acted in a few movies back in the mid-2000s,” earning him a round of applause from his followers. Praised for his wit, fans hailed his response and the coolness.
In an earlier interview with India Today, the actor had opened up about how, during his initial days in Bollywood, the press didn’t get his wry sense of humour. The Gori Tere Pyaar Mein actor expressed, “The media landscape has evolved today and I think people are now approaching it with a far greater sensitivity and a measure of self-regulation. At that time, everyone was in a race. My wry deadpan humour would not land and they would take things I said seriously. They would be like ‘Oh this guy is saying this seriously’ and they would report it like that. They wouldn’t get my sarcasm or irony.”
Recently, in an Instagram post, Imran shared a sneak peek of his new sanctuary nestled amidst the verdant landscape. Accompanied by a heartfelt caption, he shared his vision of seamlessly blending architecture with nature’s canvas. Reflecting on his design philosophy, Imran explained, “The intention was not to build a lavish vacation villa, but rather to make something that takes its cues from the landscape.” He emphasised the role of nature in shaping every aspect of his home, from the placement of windows to the choice of materials.
Imran’s creative process was deeply intertwined with the rhythm of nature, as he spent countless hours observing the interplay of light and shadow, the dance of foliage, and the ebb and flow of streams. This meticulous study formed the bedrock of his architectural endeavour, ensuring that his home resonated with the soul of its surroundings.
Imran was last seen in the 2015 film Katti Batti, starring opposite Kangana Ranaut.
