Ibrahim Ali Khan calls social media ‘hateful world’; defends Nadaaniyan as a ‘good’ film: ‘They tried to twist it a lot’
Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan has addressed the negativity he and his film Nadaaniyan faced online.

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, recently made his debut with Karan Johar’s Nadaaniyan. While expectations were high from the film, it was widely panned by critics, with Ibrahim becoming the target of trolling online. In a recent interaction, the 24-year-old actor acknowledged that while people expected a lot from Nadaaniyan, the team’s intention was always to create an easy-breezy rom-com.
Sharing his take on Nadaaniyan, Ibrahim told Filmfare, “People go into the film with very high expectations of what it should be. It was not to be some grand film. It was meant to be a sweet, breezy rom-com that you should enjoy on a Friday night, chilling in bed.”
Ibrahim Ali Khan didn’t shy away from addressing the negativity he faced online, calling social media a ‘hateful world’ for the amount of trolling both he and the film have seen in the past few months. However, he remained confident in his self-belief, adding, “They tried to twist it a lot. Sure, as a lead actor, I have to bring in loads more than what I did. I know I can bring it and I am confident that I will bring it in my future projects. But I’m happy with what it was. I worked with hardworking people and we made a sweet film.”
Despite facing sharp criticism, Ibrahim stood by his work, sharing that he personally found the film to be ‘good’. “I get the criticism but I enjoyed working on it. It was meant to be sweet and breezy. I would say it’s good,” he said.
Nadaaniyan also starred Khushi Kapoor alongside Mahima Chaudhry, Dia Mirza, Suniel Shetty, and Jugal Hansraj. The film was released on Netflix.
