Himani Shivpuri says Madhuri Dixit stood up to greet her when they first met: ‘She was the number one heroine..’

Veteran actor Himani Shivpuri recently shared her experience working in Sooraj Barjatya’s blockbuster hit, Hum Aapke Hain Koun. The  actor spoke about her memorable journey of working alongside renowned stars like Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan. Himani also mentioned how she never felt neglected or disregarded despite being a newcomer in the industry.

In an interview with Rajshri, Himani opened up about her first day on the sets and said, “Sooraj ji (Sooraj Barjatya) took me to the sets of Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Madhuri Dixit was sitting with her staff. Sooraj ji said, ‘This is Himani Shivpuri… she is a very experienced actor.’ Madhuri Dixit got up and that was a very inspiring moment for me because she was the number one heroine and she got up. After I did a few films with her and I realized that she is beautiful person inside out.”

The 1994 film Hum Aapke Hain Koun is directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions. The film also starred Mohnish Bahl, Renuka Shahane, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath.

The actor added, “We used to get up at 4 a.m in the morning and we used to change at our hotels and leave. But we had to do one more change for the song. So everybody used to be in a single room. So imagine, Bindu ji, Madhuri, Reema Ji and Renuka, we all changed in the same room with the staff. Everybody were big stars, but I was new. Everybody treated me so good and nobody looked down on me because I was new. That was all due to the captain (Sooraj) of the ship.”
