Hema Malini heaps praise on Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, calls his performance ‘superb’, says film stirred patriotic feelings in her

Veteran actor Hema Malini watched her stepson Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 recently, and seemed to enjoy herself. The film is currently making waves at the box office. She commended Sunny’s performance, describing it as ‘superb.’ Hema also noted that the movie stirred patriotic feelings within her, and she was pleased that the film lived up to her expectations.

In a paparazzi interaction, Hema said, “Gadar dekh kar aayi hun. Bohot he accha laga. Jo expected tha waise hi tha. Bohot hi interesting hai. Aisa lag raha tha ki 70s aur 80s ka us zamane ka film ke jaisa ek daur hai. Us daur ko leke aaye hai. Anil Sharma ji ne bohott beautiful direction kiya hai. (I just watched Gadar. I liked it a lot. It is very interesting. I felt like I was watching a film from the ’70s and ’80s. Anil Sharma has brought back that era, he has directed the film beautifully).”

She added, “Sunny is superb, Utkarsh, Anil Sharma ji’s son unhone ne bhi bohot sundar acting kiya hai. Jo nayi ladki hai, woh bhi bohot acchi hai. Yeh picture dekh kar ekdum rashtra ke prati jo bhav hone chahiye, patriotism, woh bohut he hai. Muslim ke prati jo bhai chara hona chahiye, us vishay ko last mein leke aaye hai. (Anil Sharma’s son and the new girl, both have performed very well. After watching the film, one can feel the patriotism towards the country, and brotherhood towards Muslims).”

Dharmendra married Hema in 1979, and they have two daughters, Esha and Ahana. His first wife, and the mother of Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeeta, and Vijayta, is Prakash Kaur. A few days ago, Esha arranged a special screening for Gadar 2. Sunny, Bobby Deol, Esha and Ahana Deol reunited at the screening and even posed for the paps. Hema recently attracted attention when she skipped attending the wedding of Sunny’s son, Karan Deol.

Gadar 2 is rocking the box office, crossing Rs 300 crore in India. On the second Saturday, it earned Rs 32 crore and is getting closer to the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide.
