Gulshan Devaiah says Janhvi Kapoor received a lot of negativity after ‘botched Reddit AMA’: ‘She is aware things are said about her’

Regarding his earlier comment about not vibing with Janhvi, Gulshan elaborated on how it was misunderstood and how aware he is of the trolling she endures. He explained, “The point that I was trying to make was that it is not necessary that two people have to vibe to have effective chemistry. You have to know how to do your job. I am very aware of the online trolling that Janhvi has received. Even before also… I feel that it is too much sometimes, it crosses the line. We all have our likes and dislikes but how we project it sometimes… it is easy for people to just sit somewhere and say something… She is quite reserved and I am totally okay with that. Perhaps some people would see that she comes from a film family and does not want to mingle with outsiders… there was nothing like that. She is very respectful actually.”

Earlier, in an interview with Film Companion, Gulshan mentioned that there was a distance between him and Janhvi but noted that she maintained professionalism despite the awkwardness. He had said, “It is not like we are sitting and chatting, we don’t vibe at all, actually. I don’t think she finds me funny, interesting or anything like that,” he said. This comment went viral on social media, leading to further trolling of Janhvi.

Gulshan and Janhvi’s Ulajh turned out to be a major box office disappointment, grossing only Rs 11 crore against a budget of Rs 50 crore.
