Emraan Hashmi is all set to return to the big screen with the film Ground Zero, trailer for which has dropped. The makers of the film shared a nearly three-minute long trailer on Monday, giving a sneak peek into what to expect from the film when it releases in theatres on April 25. Inspired by true events, the film stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role as an army man posted in Kashmir. The film, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, also stars Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rockey Raina, and Rahul Vohra.
The film is set in 2001. The trailer begins with Indian army tapping the network of militants provoking young Kashmiris to rebel against the army. A voice in the background says: ‘A true Mujahid’s life means: Passion in heart, and a gun in the hand.” The video then follows with several footages of firing from both militants and the Indian army. A text on the wall reads: “Tujhe laayi yaha teri maut fauji, Kashmir ka badla lega yeh Ghazi (Ghazi will seek revenge for Kashmir).”
To combat the worsening situation in the Valley, Mukesh Tiwari, who plays the head of the team, flies in his ‘best man’ Emraan Hashmi, who plays the role of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey.

While the Indian army’s goal is to finish militancy, Emraan’s character believes in ending it by changing their thought and educating them. However, their hunt for their main antagonist Ghazi continues, who remains faceless until the end of the video.
The rest of the trailer shows a glimpse of the struggles of soldiers posted in Kashmir. The video ends with a member of the army changing the text on the wall, which now reads: “Tujhe laati yaha teri maut Ghazi, Kashmir ka badla lega Fauji.” The film, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar , is written by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava.
BSF’s Opeartion Ghazi baba
The film is based on the BSF’s operation against the man responsible for 2001 Parliament attack Ghazi Baba. The commander of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was among the most wanted terrorists operating in India. He was neutralised in August 2004 in a BSF operation.
