Gadar 2 box office collection day 36: Sunny Deol-starrer slows down against Jawan wave, struggles to cross Pathaan’s lifetime collection

With Jawan dominating the box office since its release on September 7, the business of other films including Vijay Deverakonda’s Kushi and Vishal’s Tamil film Mark Antony has been severely affected.

Gadar 2 was made at a budget of Rs 60 crore, as per director Anil Sharma, and given the investment that was put into the film, the returns are definitely worth studying. The franchise had a lot of nostalgic value but given the fact that Sunny Deol had not appeared in a hit film in a long time, trade pundits did not expect Gadar 2 to bring in such big numbers. Now, it is to be seen when the makers start prepping for Gadar 3.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 brings back Sunny as Tara Singh and actor Ameesha Patel as Sakeena. The film’s story moves ahead from its prequel, where the onscreen couple’s son, played by Utkarsh Sharma, is captured in Pakistan and Tara Singh goes back to rescue his son.
