Farah Khan reveals how she ‘found’ Dilip, says he was loitering outside Ajay Devgn’s house 13 years ago: ‘Your mother gave him a movie ticket’

Farah Khan welcomed Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur on her YouTube channel, and they spoke about how her cook Dilip entered her life.

Actors Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur appeared on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel to promote their new movie, Son of Sardaar 2, which debuted in theatres on Friday. They cooked shahi paneer with Farah’s personal chef Dilip, who had a connection with Ajay Devgn and his family as well. In the video, Farah revealed that she first met Dilip outside Ajay’s house over a decade ago. His brother, Bholaa, was working as a chef there. Dilip said that he’d developed a friendly bond with Ajay’s mother. Farah was surprised that she’d never mentioned this piece of Dilip lore to Ajay before, or even to her audiences on YouTube.

As usual, Dilip behaved like he was smitten with the female guest, who happened to be Mrunal. He dressed up as a cop, and helped her cook the paneer in their newly refurbished kitchen. Ajay declared that he’d wait in the living room while Mrunal and Farah did the cooking. He later dropped by to chop up some paneer and lend a hand. Dilip excitedly told him what a huge fan he is, and Farah exclaimed that she’s never spoken about how she first met him.

She said, “You know how I found him? Oh my God! I have to tell you this story. He was outside your house. How could I forget this? Yeh aapke bangle ke bahar ghoom raha tha, aur aapki mummy ne isse Son of Sardaar ki ticket di (He was loitering outside your house, and your mother gave him tickets for Son of Sardaar).” Dilip nodded excitedly, and said, “Mummy ke saath achi jaan-pehchan thi. Mera chhota bhai kaam karta tha, Bholaa.” Farah asked Ajay to check with his mother if she remembers Dilip.

In the comments section, Farah’s fans were excited for Dilip getting to meet one of his heroes. “Thank you, Farah, for being such a kind soul to Dilip. Celebrities will come to your show because of you, not because of him—but the fact that you gave him a platform means the world to him.
