Farah Khan credits Shah Rukh Khan for Main Hoon Na’s success, says she’s willing to wait for him for next film: ‘Banaungi toh Shah Rukh ke sath hi’
Farah Khan acknowledged that her directorial debut, Main Hoon Na, found success at the box office largely because of Shah Rukh's presence. She also admitted that she is willing to wait for the opportunity to work with him again.

In her illustrious career spanning decades, Farah Khan has directed four films, out of which three starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. She made her directorial debut with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Main Hoon Na (2004), which quickly catapulted into a cult classic. In a recent interview, Farah admitted that she is willing to wait for the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh again, calling him her ‘lucky mascot.’ She also acknowledged that Main Hoon Na found success at the box office largely because of Shah Rukh’s presence.
Speaking to YouTuber Mr. Faisu, Farah reminisced about Main Hoon Na, expressing how Shah Rukh’s involvement made it a hit. She said, “While making the film I a hundred percent felt that this film will work because Shah Rukh is starring in it. Abhi bhi lagta hai mujh ki agar mein banaungi toh Shah Rukh ke sath hi banaungi 1000% chalni hi chalni hai, bhale hi time lelo ruk jaao (I still feel that if I make a film, I will make it with Shah Rukh. That film will 1000 percent work, even if this means waiting for sometime).”
Speaking about her bond with Shah Rukh, Farah said, “For me, he is my lucky mascot.”
Aside from Main Hoon Na, Farah has also directed Om Shanti Om, Tees Maar Khan and Happy New Year. While all these films featured Shah Rukh Khan in leading roles, Tees Maar Khan was an exception, headlined by Akshay Kumar. However, Tees Maar Khan paled in comparison to Farah Khan’s other ventures in terms of box office collections. Despite being made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, Tees Maar Khan minted only Rs 101.89 crore.
In contrast, Farah’s other films were massive successes. For instance, Happy New Year grossed Rs 394 crore, while Om Shanti Om brought in Rs 150 crore. Main Hoon Na was also the second-highest-grossing film of 2004.
