Dream Girl 2, much like its prequel, will see Ayushmann play the double role of a man, and a woman named Pooja. While in the first film, only Ayushmann’s voice modulation brought the character of Pooja alive, in the sequel, the actor has also changed his appearance to look like a woman.

The actor, in an interview to PTI, had spoken about being sensitive to the opposite gender with his cross-dressing act.

He said, “The way I take a particular character, I try not to overdo it. I try to make it as real as possible, keeping in mind the sensitivities. In the end, it’s the entertainment that matters. We are not putting anyone down and that’s our aspiration with this film. But the real crux and core of this film is comedy.”

Directed by Raaj Shandilya, Dream Girl 2 is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The film also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and is set to release on August 25.
