The day four box office collections of Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi-starrer Do Aur Do Pyaar and Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2 saw both films recording extremely poor numbers after an already low weekend. The collective total of both films on Monday didn’t even touch Rs 35 lakh, signaling the end of the road for them.

Do Aur Do Pyaar had recorded a weekend collection of Rs 2.5 crore, with Sunday figures standing at Rs 95 lakh. On Monday, the film’s collections dipped to Rs 25 lakh, according to estimates posted by Sacnilk. The industry tracker noted that the occupancy throughout the day for the romantic comedy drama remained under 10 percent, with night shows going a little over 11 percent.

Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2, on the other hand, also recorded a massive fall. The film saw its best day on Sunday, when it netted Rs 40 lakh. On Monday, the collections came down to Rs 8 lakh. The film’s total now domestic collections now stand at Rs 73 lakhs. This is Vidya’s second flop in a row, after Neeyat. Dibakar hasn’t had a successful film in years, and struggled similarly with Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, which received a poor release during the pandemic-era.

With combined Monday collections at under Rs 35 lakh, the road ahead for Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2 appears to be tough. Both films are competing at the box office with holdover Eid releases — Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan — which have also done poorly at the box office. Overall, it’s a particularly difficult time for the Hindi film industry.
