Despite receiving extremely poor reviews from all quarters, director Ali Abbas Zafar’s action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles, continues to dominate the box office even in its second week in theatres, casting a long shadow over new releases like Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. Nevertheless, both films experienced a slight increase in their daily earnings on Sunday, though it remains uncertain if they will pass the crucial Monday test.

Following a disappointing opening day performance of Rs 55 lakh (domestic nett), director Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s Do Aur Do Pyaar, starring Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi in the lead roles, saw a noteworthy 72.73 per cent increase in collections on Saturday, earning Rs 95 lakh. On Sunday, the film improved its earnings further and recorded an India nett collection of Rs 1.1 crore, taking its total to Rs 2.65 crore, industry tracker Sacnilk reported.

At the same time, director Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Swastika Mukherjee and Mouni Roy in the lead roles, also improved its daily earnings on Sunday, after dismal performances of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 12 lakh on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and minted an India nett collection of Rs 52 lakh. The film’s total domestic nett now stands at Rs 79 lakh. However, Sacnilk has already declared LSD 2 as a box office disaster.
