Dimple Kapadia recalls Twinkle Khanna’s ‘blunt’ reply when she said she doesn’t want to work: ‘You need money? Then keep your vanity at home and…’

“Once, I told Twinkle, ‘I don’t want to work anymore. It’s too much and my health is going down. There is tension.’ There were questions that why should I look at myself like this on screen now? Why do I need to do it?” and Twinkle just looked at me and said, ‘You need money?’ I said, ‘yes’. She said, ‘Then keep your vanity at home and go to work’. That was it, it was as blunt as that,” Kapadia told Hindustan Times.

Not just Twinkle, the Bobby star also credits her younger daughter Rinke for being “instrumental in kicking and telling me that I have to go out there and work.” Also, when she refuses to star in any of the projects offered to her, her team goes to Rinkie who further takes it up with her mother.

Dimple Kapadia shared, “The team calls up my younger daughter Rinke and then she calls me up and it goes on and on. However, I’m so glad that they pushed me to work”.

Earlier, Kapadia had also revealed that her business of scented candles flourished only on Twinkle’s persuasion. She had once said that making candles was just a hobby for her, but Twinkle suggested to turn it into a business, leading to the birth of their brand, The Faraway Tree.

Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna are the daughters of Dimple Kapadia and the late actor Rajesh Khanna. Twinkle is married to Akshay Kumar and has two children, Aarav and Nitara. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in writing at Goldsmiths, University of London.
