Diljit Dosanjh takes a stand for fan who was brutally trolled for crying at his Jaipur concert: ‘You are insulting desh ki beti’

Post his Hyderabad concert, Diljit Dosanjh shared a video where he spoke in support of a fan who was trolled for crying during his performance. He said, "Only people with emotional can cry."

Days after a woman was brutally trolled for crying inconsolably during Diljit Dosanjh’s Jaipur concert, the singer took a stand for her, and all his other fans who express their love through tears. In a new Instagram post, Diljit said, “Only those who have emotions can cry.”

Diljit kick started his Dil-Luminati India Tour at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26, followed by a show in Jaipur. Post his performance, the singer shared a video from his Jaipur concert, which focused on a woman crying while he was singing the song “Dil Tenu De Dita Mai Ta Sohneya”. Several people trolled the woman, as well as a man who was overcome by emotion when Diljit gifted a jacket to his partner.

Diljit addressed the issues at his Hyderabad concert. He posted a video of himself with the caption: “A woman who knows her worth doesn’t need validation—she shines bright enough to light her own way.”

In the video, he said in Punjabi, “Music is an emotion. It makes people smile, dance, fight, fall, and even cry. I, myself, have cried several times listening to music. Only those who have emotions can cry. I got you, don’t worry about that.”

He added, “These girls–no one can stop them. They are independent; not only men but women too earn. They earn and can enjoy themselves. You are insulting her, you are insulting the daughter of the country.”

The video showed visuals of several women tearing up at Diljit’s shows, and ended with one of them saying, “I cried. I didn’t hesitate to shed tears. I saw that people were trolling a girl, who was crying. But, I attended the concert, it came out naturally. It is completely natural to cry guys.”

Many reacted to Diljit’s support for his fan. A user commented, “Meme walo ko jawab diya gaya hai.” Another fan commented, “Shah Rukh Khan was wrong when he said he is last of the stars. Universe is going to witness a miracle in form of you. Much much love. Hearing you live and seeing you yesterday was surreal.”

Diljit will complete his India tour in December.
