Diljit Dosanjh sings for Parineeti Chopra on Chamkila set, jokes ‘Amarjot became Rihanna’. Watch

As Diljit sings a Punjabi song, Parineeti starts grooving with the microphone like a rockstar on stage. Later, Diljit jokes that the AR Rahman track ‘Vida Karo’ from the film is dedicated to Parineeti. “Ye film se nikal chuki hai, ye inka last day hai. (She is done with the film. This is her last day.)”

Imtiaz, who is not in the frame, can be heard saying that the crew should sing the song for her, as the team then joins in singing the Arijit Singh number. Diljit took to Instagram and captioned the video, “Amarjot Ch Rihanna Aa Gai C 😈 Chamkila 12th April Only on @netflix_in.”

Amar Singh Chamkila follows the untold true story of Punjab’s original rockstar of the masses, who emerged from the shadows of poverty and rose to the heights of popularity in the 80s through his biggest asset– music. He was gunned down at the age of 27. The film is now gearing to release on April 12 on Netflix.

This will be Imtiaz Ali’s first release post pandemic, after his 2020 romantic drama Love Aaj Kal 2 starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan.
