Diljit Dosanjh flaunts Met Gala 2025 invite, says will not attend family weddings now: ‘Per plate da hisaab hai’, asks fans what to wear

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is all set for his grand debut at the much-awaited fashion event, Met Gala 2025. On Monday morning, the pop star shared a funny video in his unique Punjabi style. Diljit Dosanjh revealed several inside details including its theme and co-chairs.

Met Gala 2025 is a celebration of Black culture and fashion history, with the dress code “Tailored for You.” The co-chairs include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, with LeBron James acting as honorary chair. Diljit joked as he named all of them: ‘Kursi kaun chadta hai (who let’s go of power)’.

Diljit is in New York at present ahead of the Met Gala. Taking to Instagram, Diljit shared a video of himself in a hotel room where he had some champagne bottles kept in ice.

Diljit’s video starts as he jokingly tells his family not to send him wedding invites anymore as he has a much more prestigious invite with him. The singer then showed his Met Gala invite and read it aloud.

Diljit also shared that photography is prohibited at the event and said in Punjabi that he can’t make reels there. He added that the invite was restricted to one person and said, “Per person, per plate da hisaab hai (It’s a per person, per plate scenario),” as he compared it with Indian weddings. Diljit ended the video in his trademark style by saying, ” ‘Punjabi aa gye oye’.

Diljit Dosanjh captioned the post as, “MET GALA Tomorrow. Daso Fer Ki Paiye Kal Nu; Halaa Laa Laa Karauni An (Tell me what to wear tomorrow, need to dazzle everyone).”

Diljit’s fans have been going gaga over the clip. In the comment section, a fan wrote, “Met Gala will have his 1st Sardarji Fashion Icon✨👑👑,” while another wrote, “MET GALAAA PUNJABI AAGAYEEE OYEEEE😍😍😍😍.” “Sooooo Soooo Happy & Proud !! 🤗 From Shadaa Wala met gala to real METGALA , You Did Itt ! ❤️❤️❤️,” reacted another fan.

The Met Gala, 2025 will take place on the evening of May 5 in New York. This year, apart from Diljit, Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani will also be making a debut on the red carpet while our desi girl Priyanka Chopra will be seen for the fifth time.
