Deva trailer: Shahid Kapoor plays the new-age Singham in Rosshan Andrrews film

Deva trailer: The makers of Shahid Kapoor’s much-awaited film Deva dropped its trailer on Friday. The over two minutes video features Shahid as a cop with anger issues. The film, directed by Rosshan Andrewws, also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role. It is bankrolled by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films.

The trailer begins with an angry Shahid being in a revenge mood. He says, “Unhone humarein function mein ghuske, humarein bhai pe goli chalayi aur use maar diya. Ab humari baari hai, ab ghusne ki, har uss gali mein, system mein, area mein jisko humne khulla chora hua hai. (They entered our event, shot our brother and killed him. Now, its our turn. Now we will enter every lane, every system, and every area we have left open.) And this time I want full freedom.”

The next few frames of the trailer shows a ruthless Shahid Kapoor brutally beating up goons. A voiceover says, “This hooliganism has to stop.”

Another character says, “There’s an article about you, Police or Mafia?” To which Shahid replies, “I am Mafia.”

The trailer also introduces other characters in the film, Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana and Kubbra Sait. The film, written by Bobby-Sanjay and Hussain Dalal, is all set to release on January 31.

Deva will be Shahid Kapoor’s first movie after his 2024 release, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. This will mark his first collaboration with Pooja Hegde. Rosshan Andrrews is known for films like Prithiviraj’s Mumbai Police, Mohanlal’s Udyananu Tharam and Dulquer Slalman’s Salute, among others.
