Deepika Padukone: Style icon tag happened by default

Deepika has often stated that her mother Ujjala is her style icon and she reiterated that at an event which she attended to launch an eyewear brand collection.

“I don’t think she knows about it. She’s had a big influence on my life. It (dressing) was always simple, minimalistic. She would always stick to white, blue and pastel shades. Even accessorizing was very minimal. That’s why my mum (style icon),” shared the 29-year-old.

Having started out as a model, the manner in which she carries her style has always been appreciated by fans and the industry. But still, she thinks that she’s incapable of styling someone else.

“I don’t think I know enough about fashion to be styling other people. If anything, I think there are a lot of people out there who can style me,” said Deepika.
