Devisha’s story was also shared on Reddit, where it attracted several responses. Many of them blamed Yuzvendra for their divorce. A user wrote, “Good that SKY’s wife is standing up for her , clearly she knows more than we do.” Another user wrote, “Idk who was wrong but after divorce yuzi was being so immature (that tshirt thing and going on podcast and telling just bad things to dename) but Dhanshree handled it well At least respect the relationship both had.”

Other comments read: “It’s clear that Chahal did something wrong.” The comment further questioned Chahal’s silence when Dhanashree’s name was being linked to Shreyas for sharing a Instagram reel with him. “Mature men would take a stand for their wife, but he did nothing.”

Dhanashree opened up about her divorce with Yuzvendra Chahal

In her podcast, Dhanashree openly spoke about her divorce and even addressed the drama around Yuzvendra’s choice of t-shirt on the day of their court hearing for finalising divorce. His t-shirt had a text that read: ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’.

Speaking in length, Dhanashree shared how she was taken by surprise by Yuzvendra’s move at a time when she was vulnerable, “I think he walked off first and that whole thing happened. The t-shirt, media, and all of that. I was not aware of that because I was still inside. I got out of the back door because you don’t want cameras all over your face. I was still crying. It’s not a small event in life, but people are going to blame you only.”

Dhanashree said that she knew that she would anyway be held responsible for the divorce by public, “We all were aware that people were going to hate me for this because of the baggage. I am sitting in the car and trying to breathe a sigh of relief that it’s over. You want to look forward to your life ahead. Until I looked up at my phone, and I went like…What? Is this even true? Is this what he did? Has this happened? And in that one second, you have billions of thoughts. That moment I was like…’Boss, it’s over’! It’s done, dusted. Why should I cry? In fact, somewhere I did feel bad trying to gauge why I cried…for this? That was the motivation that I needed to just laugh.”

Calling Yuzvendra’s act immature, Dhanashree shared, “You have your own battle going on, and there is media circus. I feel, you have to be very mature about this. I have chosen that path. Like I chose maturity over being immature and passing major statements that can appease public. I won’t choose that path because I don’t want to disrupt my family values. I don’t want to disrupt his family values. We have to keep respect intact throughout.”

In the same interview, Dhanashree shared that people should stop taking advantage of her silence. She was responding to Yuzvendra claiming they were faking their marriage by the end of it. “There is a reason why we say personal life. It has to be private. A coin has two sides. You cannot clap with a single hand. Just because I am not speaking, doesn’t give anybody the power to take advantage of that. Its not correct and I don’t think it should happen with anybody. Its done and dusted, please move on. I do have lots to talk about it, I have my side of the story to it, but do I want to dwell into that? No. Right now, I am working on fixing myself.”

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot in December 2020. However, they ended it after over four years in March 2025.
