Kapil Sharma recently shared unseen footage from a hilarious episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, featuring Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, and Chunky Panday. The three stars from the 80’s and 90’s reminisced about their on-screen chemistry and enduring friendship.

Chunky Panday revealed that he owes his first break as an actor to Govinda, who “didn’t have dates” for certain films. Those films eventually became Chunky’s lucky break. He also shared an amusing anecdote about Shakti Kapoor, who helped him secure Rs 50,000 in one night at a party. Chunky humorously recalled, “It was like Rs 50 lakh today. He took me to a party along with him and introduced me to all the film producers who were present there. He told them, ‘he is going to be a big star’, he took all the money from their pockets and handed the cash to me. That night I signed around ten films and it was all because of Shakti ji. But then nine of them asked for their money back. I did one movie.”

Shakti shared another amusing anecdote about Chunky Panday’s cleverness. He recounted an incident where Chunky allegedly duped Salman Khan. Shakti quoted Chunky as saying, “There’s this one garment store, you’ll love it. The store owner was Salman’s fan and had said, ‘whatever clothes Salman likes, take it all…’ So he took Salman there and told him, ‘Wahi bahane mujhe bhi 2-4 jackets mil jaayenge (That way I’ll also get 2-4 jackets).'”

Shakti continued, “Chunky took Salman to the store, and Salman picked out some clothes. When he offered to pay, the store manager insisted it was on the house. However, once Salman left, another sponsor approached Chunky and handed him two bundles of notes, saying, ‘If you bring Salman to my store, I’ll pay you.'”

Govinda then picthed his side of the story about Shakti and how he imitated Shakti in his film Sajan Chale Sasural. He said, “If Shakti is too happy, and if he knows you, he drops his pants, I did that too in the film.” Govinda, Chunky and Shakti have appeared together in films like Aankhen (1993) and Hum (1991).
