The writer of Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, Hussain Dalal, has finally broken his silence on the dialogues of the Ayan Mukerji‘s directorial starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Hussain revealed that the the trolling of the film’s dialogues “took a beating” on his confidence.

Recently, in an interview with CNN- News18, Hussain was asked about the consequences of a failure, like his dialogues from the film Brahmastra that were trolled a lot when the film released.

Responding to the question, Dalal said, “To be honest, confidence takes a beating, of course. Also, I have one bad habit that from the time I was very young, from my childhood, I was used to a lot of praise. So, that also affects you. But then everybody in the world is educated enough to understand that everybody collectively agreed to say the lines, shoot the lines, direct the lines and write the lines.”

Hussain also defended himself that while he wrote the film’s dialogues, it was an unanimous decision of the film’s team to take it ahead and make the film but it backfired. He said, “I didn’t run away with the camera to shoot (the film alone). I think the larger understanding is that everybody who makes movies understands that what we collectively attempted (to make)… turned out this way. More than me losing morale for a few months, other producers lost it (confidence in me). But honestly, I think it is a great learning experience. Fantastic learning experience.”

Hussain Dalal and Ayan Mukerji had earlier collaborated on the filmmaker’s debut film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).
