Bhumi Pednekar and her Toiler Ek Prem Katha and Raksha Bandhan co-star Akshay Kumar clashed at the box office as their films Thank You for Coming and Mission Raniganj released in cinemas together on October 6. Even after receiving positive reviews from film critics, director Karan Boolani ensemble comedy couldn't crack the Rs 1 crore mark on day one of its release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Thank You for Coming made Rs 80 lakh (nett) in India on Friday, and witnessed a 16.54% Hindi occupancy. However, the film is expected to pick up the pace over the weekend. In her review of Thank You for Coming, The Indian Express' Shubhra Gupta said that Bhumi Pednekar's film is a heartfelt slap in the face of the zillions of movies that are about privileged boys and their putrid toys. She gave the film three stars. Thank You for Coming also stars social media sensation, actor and singer Shehnaaz Gill. This is her second Hindi feature film after Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which starred Salman Khan in the lead. Along with Bhumi Pednekar and Shehnaaz Gill, Thank You for Coming also stars content creators-turned-actors Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh and Shibani Bedi.
