Bholaa box office collection Day 2: Ajay Devgn starrer performs worse than Shivaay, collections stand at Rs 18.60 crore
Bholaa box office collection Day 2: Ajay Devgn-Tabu fiilm saw a significant dip on Friday and has collected approximately Rs 18.60 in its first two days.

Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, struggled to draw audiences on the second day after a decent opening at the box office. Bholaa earned Rs 11.20 crore on its first day but saw a significant drop on Day 2 with just Rs 7.40 crore, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The two-day total now stands at approximately Rs 18.60 crore.
Box office India reported that the film had 11.02% occupancy in theatres on Friday. Even though the reviews of the film were largely positive, the drop in the national chains was reported to be around 35%.
Drishyam 2, Ajay’s most recent release, earned more than Rs 200 crore at the box office but the performance of Bholaa is comparable to that of Shivaay, which was also directed by Devgn. The opening day collection of Shivaay stood at Rs 10.24 crore but it ultimately managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark during its run. Shivaay released against Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which performed a tad bit better at the ticket counters.
Bholaa is facing competition from Nani’s Dasara, which has had a wide pan-Indian release. Dasara started its run with Rs 38 crore gross worldwide, making it one of the biggest openers for Nani.
Bholaa’s collections over the weekend are being closely watched as the extended weekend will be a testing time for the film. The Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi, Bholaa might suffer because of the ongoing IPL 2023. The collections in various centres might also witness a dip due to the holy month of Ramzan.
The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta gave the film three stars. A part of the review read, “Action junkies, rejoice. ‘Bholaa’, in which Ajay Devgn does double duty as the eponymous lead actor and director, is the kind of all-out, no-holds-barred, high-octane actioner we haven’t seen in Bollywood in a long time.”
