Attack on Saif Ali Khan due to lax building security, says celeb bodyguard Yusuf Ibrahim
Celebrity bodyguard Yusuf Ibrahim spoke about attack on Saif Ali Khan and criticized society management for being unwilling to invest adequately in professional security services.

Celebrity bodyguard Yusuf Ibrahim, who also runs a security company catering to Bollywood stars, recently commented on the brutal knife attack on Saif Ali Khan at the actor’s Bandra home in Mumbai. The shocking incident, which took place in Saif’s apartment on the 11th floor, left fans questioning how the intruder managed to reach his residence unnoticed. In a recent interaction, Yusuf criticized society management for being unwilling to invest adequately in professional security services.
Yusuf explained to Zoom, “When I started my security company and ventured into building and office security, I noticed a recurring issue. Whenever we sent a bill, the management would ask us to bring it down to Rs 8,000 or Rs 10,000. That’s just not feasible. If you employ someone at that rate, the company takes its commission—Rs 1,000, for example—and then the person is left with Rs 7,000. How will they survive in Mumbai on that amount, especially after coming here from their village? They end up working double shifts, which leads to exhaustion. Obviously, if they’re working so much, they’re bound to doze off during their shift.”
He added, “If you pay them a decent amount, they will naturally work harder, get proper rest, and perform better. Cutting costs on security is a significant risk. I don’t know how the accused managed to reach Saif’s apartment undetected. It’s a big mistake of the society itself. I don’t know how much they are paying the security guards.”
Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after undergoing two surgeries for injuries sustained during the knife attack at his Bandra residence on January 16, reports confirmed. The attack was allegedly carried out by an intruder, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, during a failed robbery attempt. Saif was stabbed six times before being rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgeries.
According to The Indian Express, forensic evidence has linked Shahzad to the crime. Investigators revealed that fingerprints lifted from the scene matched those of the accused. Shahzad’s prints were found on the bathroom window he used to enter and exit the apartment, the duct shaft, and the ladder he climbed to access the building.
