Arjun Rampal says ‘photoshoots, fame, and flying first class are wrong sides’ of being an actor, opens up on daughter Mahikaa’s Bollywood plans

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, who has three kids–Mahikaa, Myra and Arik, has opened up about them joining Bollywood and following his path as an actor. The actor said that they have complete control over their choices and went on to explain that photoshoots, fame, and flying first class are not the aspects one should focus on as an actor.

In  an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Arjun spoke about his children getting into Bollywood. He said, “I think Mahikaa is quite keen on doing it; she studied it. It’s clearly entirely up to them. I can just help to find themselves. If they want to do it, they really have to work hard and go through the whole grind of being an actor and knowing that it’s not just about being famous or liking the wrong sides of acting of just wanting to be a star , doing photoshoots or cover shoots, flying first class or having a vanity van or making money or doing all of that (sic).”

He added, “It’s about putting in your whole soul, losing you privacy, tremendous amount of sacrifices and being extremely determined. Learning to become thick skinned to a certain degree but not lose your sensitivity. It’s a huge huge journey.”

Myra recently made her  runway debut with Dior’s fashion show in Mumbai. The actor dedicated a special post for Myra and said, “Today my gorgeous little princess, walked her first runway. That too for Christian Dior. The best thing about it was that she did it all on her own merit. From auditions to fittings.” Mahikaa is currently studying at a film school in London.

Arjun has two daughters–Mahikaa and Myra, with ex-wife Mehr Jessia.  In 2019, Arjun and his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades welcomed Arik and the duo recently announced their second pregnancy.
