Arjun Kapoor says his sisters are starting to fill his late mother’s void: ‘Have spoken about things with Janhvi that I never even confessed to myself’
Arjun Kapoor opened up about his relationship with his half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi, which began under tragic circumstances.

Actor Arjun Kapoor has been very open about his mental health in the past, and in a recent interview, he said that he is the most vulnerable around his sisters. Arjun said that he grew up with his sister Anshula and started developing a relationship with half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi after they lost their mother Sridevi. And since they met under such tragic circumstances, their relationship started on a vulnerable note.
Talking to Raj Shamani on his podcast, Arjun said, “I think I am the most vulnerable with my sisters, which is a good thing. Because when I got connected with Janhvi and Khushi, the circumstances that were there, there was nothing left. We were at the lowest in terms of… Me and Anshula had experienced something, then Janhvi and Khushi were going through something that we wouldn’t wish for our worst enemies and it happened in our house. So we started with being vulnerable.”
Arjun and Anshula are the children of Boney and Mona Kapoor. After Boney and Mona’s divorce in 1996, he married Sridevi and welcomed daughters Janhvi and Khushi. Mona passed away in 2012 after battling cancer and Sridevi passed away in 2018. Arjun and Anshula were there to support their father and half-siblings after Sridevi’s death in 2018, even though they had been estranged from him all their life.

Arjun said that he feels the “most myself” around his sisters and shared, “Now when I talk to Janhvi, Khushi and Anshula, I feel the most myself with them, it’s a strange thing. I have spoken about such things with Janhvi that I never even confessed to my own self. And she is wise also, so she understands. I share everything with Anshula. When I don’t say something, she comes and sits with me and I just naturally start speaking. I am very blessed that my sisters have allowed me to be open.”
Arjun said that the presence of his sisters almost fills the void that was left by his mother. “Because I don’t have mom, there was a void and now I have sisters… I have been able to also allow myself to fill that void with these kind of emotions and relationships so maybe I don’t have the happiness of having mom around but I have nice amazing women in my life that allow me to be vulnerable because a kid is the most vulnerable in front of their mom. In front the dad, you have to… you can be friends but you don’t get emotional beyond a point. Although me and my dad have gotten emotional about things in a good way. My mom’s void is starting to get filled, actually it can’t be filled. You want somebody to go to and… I can’t go and lie in someone’s lap but I can at least talk to them. So I like that,” he said.
Arjun was recently seen in Singham Again.
