Archana Puran Singh says she, her sons inundated with brand endorsements after they started a vlog: ‘Script of one has Parmeet Sethi making silly jokes at me…’
In an exclsuive interview, actress Archana Puran Singh shares if vlogging on YouTube has helped more acting projects come her way, she also explains how brand endrosements work for her and the family.

Actress Archana Puran Singh and quite successfully dabbled in the content creation arena on YouTube. The senior actress, along with her family – husband Parmeet Sethi, and sons Aaryamann and Ayushmaan- began vlogging on YouTube in December 2024. While this turned out to be quite a successful stint, today Archana’s channel has 6.87 lakh subscribers. Recently, in an interview with SCREEN, the actress opened up about how her content creation journey has invited a lot more work coming her way. She even explained how the family works around brand endorsements.
Talking about taking on vlogging, Archana Puran Singh said, “It helps that I am an established face in the industry and I have a fanbase on Instagram. People have watched me as an actor for the last 42 years now. So that 42 years of people who watched me are always keen to know more about me as a person, not just an actor on screen, so they are getting a chance to see that. I am so happy that I can connect with my audience, which was my one big peeve in life was that I was not able to connect with the audience directly, and I did that through Instagram and YouTube. Being a recognizable face does give me a kind of head start in so many ways.”
When asked if vlogging has also translated into more work for her, the actress shared, “Yes, it does translate into more work, now it’s ‘joh dikhta hai woh bikta hai’. If you are not seen today, it’s almost like you’re dead.” Archana also recalled how in just three months, they had hit 600K subscribers. Talking about the same, she added, “When I met Kapil recently, he said that it’s a big deal to get this number of followers in so little time. Despite being in the industry for 40 years, now with my presence on YouTube, everywhere I go, they know aspects of my personality that they were not aware of earlier.”
Explaining how brands approach them now and which ones they choose to accept, Archana Puran Singh shared, “A brand approached me for a vegetarian vitamin endorsement because through my vlogs, they came to know that I am a vegetarian. Brand endorsements and deals are coming in for both my sons and me, as pet lovers. There are also a lot of deals people are approaching me for because they are seeing the personal side of me. They approached Parmeet and me because they said our nok-jhok as husband and wife… we recently shot for a brand where the script was based on Parmeet making silly jokes at me and the way I responded. Scripts were written exactly like that; they got this from our vlogs. Our identities are now being showcased in the brands. Parmeet loves chai, which came across in the videos, so now a tea brand has approached us.”

She further shared how they still tread with caution, too. “But we are very careful also, one thing that we are not okay to endorse is something we don’t believe in. It’s not like we always use the same products, but we are a little careful about which products we want to align with. For instance, a chicken brand had come to me, and I said no to endorsing a meat packaging thing. Another one I said no to was many gambling sites coming to us to endorse them, but it’s a blanket no. Anything that I am not comfortable with, we don’t do it. Qyuki (the agency that handles the channel) always puts it to us as would be okay to do it and to what degree. As much as we can, we try not to say yes to something that we wouldn’t like to put forward to the public,” Archana explained.
Discussing if vlogging has also helped in acting projects coming her way, Archana said, “They say if somebody has so many followers… Young people are getting breaks nowadays, but I have already been around for too long, so I don’t think it makes a difference whether I have 2 million followers; my name is already established as a senior actor. But I think, today being social media relevant or social media popular helps brands assess to what degree you will be favorable to their brand. YouTube helps brands to understand that. Now, everybody is scared of sudden bans being put on channels, people getting socially cancelled, but here they find a wholesome family. What we represent is a good Indian normal family, and that helps with a clean social media presence without controversies.”
On the work front, Archana Puran Singh will be seen in Rajkummar Rao’s Toaster next. She is also likely to begin shooting for The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 this month.
