Anushka Sharma says she tries to ‘fool’ daughter Vamika into eating healthy, but she’s too smart already: ‘I bring out the actress in me’
Anushka Sharma and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli are parents to a daughter named Vamika and son Akaay.

Anushka Sharma made a public appearance in India after a long time a few days ago, as she attended a brand event in Mumbai. At the event, the actor opened up about the parenting style that she and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, use for their two children — daughter Vamika and son Akaay. Anushka said that she tries to fool her daughter into eating healthy, but the three-year-old is already too smart to buy her made-up stories.
When she was asked how she makes sure that her children eat healthy food and not get tempted to eat junk, Anushka said at Slurrp Farm’s YES Moms & Dads event, “This was a hard one. Your kid is two, and if it is your firstborn, then it’s kind of easier because they haven’t been to that many birthday parties. They don’t know that cake exists and there is pizza in the world. You create this nice little bubble for them. You are fooling them well (chuckles). And then they start seeing things; ‘Oh! Wait a minute, what is that woman not been showing me?’ So, I am going through that with my daughter.”

She added how she has to give lengthy and animated explanations to her daughter about the importance of eating healthy. She said, “I think the only way I have managed to, and I am still trying, is that I do explain it to her. I tell her that there are some foods that give us energy so you can play and do different things. Some food gives that to us very quickly and then we have no energy left to do other things. Other foods give us energy in a way that we can keep playing… I make it sound more interesting than I am making it to you guys right now. But I feel like she doesn’t buy most of the times, she is like, ‘Whatever, just give it!’ I also pick days and give a very lengthy explanations, which I try to make fun. I bring out the actress in me…”
Anushka also recalled taking Vamika to an ice-cream museum in Singapore, and being surprised by her reaction. “I took her to an ice cream museum because she loves ice cream. She is obsessed. There, I told her, ‘Eat as much as you want’. She didn’t eat that much. So, I think when you inculcate the right kind of habits in the beginning, they don’t stuff themselves with 10 ice creams. She must have had two, and then she was like, ‘I am done.’ So if you inculcate the right habits in the beginning, they’ll make the right choice,” concluded Anushka.
On the work front, Anushka was last seen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zeo, which was released in 2018. She is now awaiting the release of her upcoming sports biopic film Chakda ‘Xpress, based on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film has been long-delayed, and there has been no update about its progress in months.
