Anil Kapoor’s mother Nirmal Kapoor’s funeral: Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Rani Mukerji, Suhana Khan pay their last respects

Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, and their brother, producer Boney Kapoor, died at the age of 90 on Friday.

Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, and their brother, producer Boney Kapoor, passed away on May 2 at the age of 90. The incident brought together the entire Kapoor family, who were spotted at Anil’s house to pay their last respects. The three brothers, along with Maheep Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were seen reaching the venue in white.

Janhvi Kapoor was accompanied by her boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya. Apart from the Kapoor family, actor Anupam Kher was seen arriving at Nirmal Kapoor’s funeral. On May 2, actors Rani Mukerji, Raveena Tandon and her daughter Rasha Thadani were seen arriving at the venue to pay tribute to Nirmal Kapoor. Videos of the celebrities surfaced online.

Today, a video of an ambulance decorated with white flowers, transporting Nirmal Kapoor’s mortal remains to the crematorium, surfaced online. Later, a video of Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya heading to the crematorium together was also shared online.

Celebs like Javed Akhtar, Jackie Shroff, Ananya Panday and Shikhar Pahariya’s brother Veer were also seen attending Nirmal Kapoor’ funeral. Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal was also seen arriving at the funeral, being held at Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai.

The Kapoor family shared a statement on Friday night that read: “Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories.”

The statement further read, “Her generous spirit and boundless love touched all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts–forever cherished, forever missed.”
