Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who will be helming No Entry 2 starring Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, has confirmed that the film’s cast will soon start shooting the film. No Entry 2 is the sequel of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan and Fardeen Khan’s 2005 superhit comedy No Entry.
Recently there were rumours that No Entry 2 is stalled after a rift between Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor, the producer of the franchise because Anil was not cast in the new film. However, Anees Bazmee has lambasted these rumours and said that while there was some trouble initially, the film is very much on track.
Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Anees said, “We are making No Entry 2 and Boney (Kapoor) sahab told me that there is some trouble and we need to make a fresh film. And I feel Anil Kapoor getting angry is justified because he was the main hero of No Entry (2005). He put in a lot of hard work in that film, not only as an actor, but he has walked shoulder to shoulder while making the film. But when we talk about him being angry for not being cast in the film… Anil ji and Boney ji are brothers and I have seen their love. So him being upset will be for how long is a different matter. But they aren’t fighting over it. They can’t fight. He has the right to be upset, if you consider someone as yours and if you think they have done something wrong, you have the right to be upset. I respect Anil ji and Boney ji equally.”
When asked if Anil called him to complain for not being casted in No Entry 2, Anees told Kannan, “No, Anil ji is doing such fabulous work today, he is doing so many films, even after all these years there are so many out there who want to work with him. So, for him, doing one film or not doing it is not a big deal. Yes, there can be emotional reasons because Boney ji is his brother and he is very attached to No Entry. I can only think of these two reasons, otherwise he doesn’t have a lack of work.”
Anees also gave an update on the film’s shoot schedule. He said, “We will start shooting the film soon. If there is any problem that Boney ji is facing then Anil ji will be the first person to approach him, to ask what the problem is. They are brothers, they have a blood relation. The film is on!”
Anees then also shared the kind of relationship, the longstanding association with Anil Kapoor, with whom he has made films like Welcome (2007), Mubarkan (2017) among others.
Reminiscing the time when Anees used to assist Raj Kapoor, he shared, “I know Anil ji from the time I used to assist Raj (Kapoor) sahab. I used to give claps on the shoot. He (Anil) used to come on sets then, I know him from that time. I even wrote a few films for him. On one film, the director fell sick, so the producer said that if Anees will direct then I’ll allow the shoot to happen. So, the first day I worked as a director was with Anil ji. So the very first time I said start, sound and cut was with Anil ji. We have that rapport.”
“He is a generous person, after that shoot he told me that he had a lot of fun. In life, right now you are a writer, but when you become a director, don’t forget me. He was such a big star, he didn’t need to say that to me, but maybe he wanted to encourage me or that he loved me, whatever it is but I remember his sweet gesture. We have worked on several films together, maybe around 15 films. I have written some of his films, directed many, and every time we collaborated we have done beautiful work, whether it is Majnu Bhai (of Welcome), Kishan of No Entry, or Sardar Of Mubarakan, every time he was superb,” he added.
