Actor Amy Jackson is bewildered the way internet reacted to her transformation. The actor recently dropped pictures which featured her in a new look, which led to almost instant trolling with many comparing her haircut to that of Irish actor Cillian Murphy’s iconic character from Peaky Blinders.

Jackson, who has worked in films like Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Bliing and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, has undergone a makeover with a new haircut. In an interview with Times of India, Jackson said her look is part of a new project she is filming in the UK.

Amy Jackson said she is an actor who takes her job “very seriously” and for the new character, she had to “slim down”. The transformation, however, wasn’t received warmly by many, who trolled the actor.

“The online outcry from the (mainly male) Indian demographic is quite sad. I’ve worked with male co-stars who had to drastically change their look for a film, and they were highly praised for it,” she said.

Jackson said that when a woman changes her look through “unusual hair” and makeup which doesn’t conform to people’s “idealism of beauty”, people assume to have the right to troll others.

When asked about comparisons with Cillian Murphy, Jackson said she was overjoyed with that as the Oppenheimer star is “chiseled perfection”. She joked that she will get her Birmingham accent ready for a “Peaky Blinders comeback.”
